About The House Of Genista
The House Of Genista was borne in the UK, inspired by art, a love of Teddy Bears and my four beautiful Yorkshire Terriers,"Trostrey Gold Genista"~ JINNY , "Genista Crystal Rose" ~ JODIE, "Genista Gold Milaika"~MEGAN and "Genista Gold Jijome"~ ANNIE, (Genista is pronounced Jennista with a J but spelt with a G.
I get my inspiration from many things in life, art, the countryside, seaside, beautiful fabrics, paintings etc but mainly from my beautiful Yorkshire Terriers. The cute and loyal expressions of these sweet little angels can inspire one to make the cutest of Teddy Bears and paint lovely pet portraits. They truly are the King amongst dogs.... cheeky, loyal, sweet, stubborn, yappy, beautiful....with the heart of a lion. With their adoring eyes and a heart full of love how effortlessly the Yorkie can charm us, the smallest action, the tiniest whimper and we're completely enchanted. Yes, I am a Yorkshire Terrier Fan lol
Like so many other teddy bear designers, I began my journey into the world of Teddy Bears by collecting them.I have a vast personal collection of Artist Bears, Manufactured Bears and Vintage Bears.
The House Of Genista offers a variety of Artist designed handcrafted Teddy Bears, hand-sewn and needle-felted.They are created from the finest quality materials that I can find, with love, care and dedication, hopefully to become a cherished companion to any collector and a cherished keepsake to be loved and handed down to be loved again over many decades. With this in mind "Genista Bears" are handcrafted to be strong enough to last the test of time........
All "Genista Bears" are designed and made by myself (unless otherwise stated), Hillary Rose - A wife, mother of two grown up daughters, Nanna to Katie Rose & Amillie May , and a devoted pet owner. I have recently started taking commissions for Pastel Pet Portraits. I have always loved art and drawing/painting and have recently taken it up again. My favourite subjects are Animals of every shape and size and I will have a go at painting/drawing any species but my all time My favourite is the pet Cat and Dog. However, a similar child friendly Bear/Doll can be created for you using special safety joints and safety eyes. Just email me with your ideas/requirements and I will see what I can do for you.....
